Good Interview Questions about Your Current Job

301 smart answer tough interview

When you are appearing in your second job interview, you must expect many questions about your past performance, working experience and current organization. Your interview shall try to measure your current status, your accomplishments and your working styles. Read through these questions and answers carefully but develop your own responses for your specific situation.

Good Interview Question No 1

What is your current Salary?

It is a very tricky question. Most of the applicants for second job try to find better financial career. On the other hand the employer wants to hire a person on lower payouts. When you tell your exact salary, your employer shall try to hire you on a salary just above your current level. Whatever you say shall help him to follow your bench mark.

You shouldn’t go for a figuer that you are not receiving...

The best approach is to calculate your current salary, facilities and advantages. Avoid a direct answer. You may say that it is not merely salary but the whole package that counts. This sort of answer shall leave room for you to negotiate your expected salary.

Good Interview Question No 2

What past accomplishments satisfy you?

Your interviewer does not want to know your accomplishments. He is interested to know the activities satisfy you. He also wants to know your concept of satisfaction. Simply choose 2-3 main accomplishments that earned you applause and promotions. Try to justify your answer with your concept of satisfaction. Selecting projects in the line of applied job may help you to satisfy your interviewer.

What do you say about your boss?

You may not be happy with your boss. You may dislike his attitude towards subordinates. You may feel him a dunce. But you need not to say anything like that. Your boss would have some peculiar traits otherwise he couldn’t be a boss. Just go for them honestly. Be brief, simple and positive. But never go too farther.

How do you take instructions /directions from your superiors?

Your superiors would have better qualities or at least better experience. They are always happy to issue instructions frequently. Some of these instructions would be excellent but others stereo type and boring. But you can’t avoid seniors at whatever rung of an organization you work. Keep in mind that your interviewer is interested to know about your capability to execute his instructions and directions. You may say that you take instructions from your seniors very seriously. However, when you find something new, you try to implement that with their consultations.

You have spent very little time with your previous employer, why?

If you have really spent little time with your previous organization you are going to be offered this question. You know the recruitment process involve time and resources of an organization. No employer likes to waste them on unpredictable employees. Many jobs also involve training before you start work. You short stay with your previous organization will alarm your future boss. Analyze your justifications, goals and future plans to answer this tricky question.

Good Interview Question No 6

You have been with your current employer for a long time, why?

It doesn’t look a good interviewer question. You may have different reasons to stay with any organization. It may be salary, working environment or other practical situations. Your interviewer knows that people don’t stick with a particular time for a long time. He wants to know your justifications to stay with a particular job for a long time. Note down your experience, training and knowledge that you have acquired from your current job. Also try to find the regions that qualified you to apply for your second job.

Good Interview Question No 7

How your current bosses shall describe you?

It is a very critical question. Your interviewer has already gone through your resume. He knows your previous achievements. He may even contact your previous boss for more information. If you have earned repute previously, it shall help you. However, if you have been facing some serious conflict, the question would become very tricky. Try to develop your answer with qualities that you have. You may be hardworking, efficient and loyal subordinate.

Good Interview Question No 8

What is your current boss’s biggest weakness?

You may have a long list to tell. But it is not really a good time to open your mind. Your interviewer may become your boss soon. Your words may lead him to think against you. Count some positive traits. You may say that your boss is a professional, experience and efficient supervisor. He may have some weaknesses but you have failed to note one.
