The Intelligent Way To Determine Quality of an IQ Online Test

An Intelligence Quota, or IQ, is a measurement of your relative intelligence. There are many different types of tests that you can take to determine your IQ, and many people have taken these types of tests through the years. We, as humans, have an indescribable desire to know how well we rank at various tasks, and skills. Call it our need to know ourselves, but this desire is primitive in nature. However, with IQ tests, you can gather a brief glimpse into your intelligence in a quick and easy way. The easiest way to test your IQ is with an IQ online test. An IQ online test is a test available on the Internet, which tests your IQ in a relatively short amount of time. However, not every IQ online test is created the same. This article will tell you what to look for in your test, and how to make sure that you are not wasting your time.

Time and Question Formats

With any good IQ online test, the question format is the most important factor of the test itself. With a normal, administered IQ test, you are provided anywhere from 60-120 questions to answer. These questions involve spatial reasoning, mathematics questions, and language comprehension questions. Spatial reasoning questions force you to use your “mind's eye”, or imagination, to rotate a puzzle in your head, or figure out what would happen with a figure when a force is applied to that figure (such as a see-saw that has a weight on one end, and none on the other). Mathematics questions involve simple to complex algebra questions, as well as division questions. Language comprehension questions involve studying and interpreting the meaning of several words in a series, as well as also being able to compare words to one another. These questions may be ordered from easier questions, to the hardest questions, as you progress through the test. However, this is not necessary in order for your IQ online test to be accurate.

The second main sign of a good IQ online test is the question time format itself. In an administered test, you are given anywhere from 60 minutes, to 90 minutes to complete the test. Beware of any test claiming longer or shorter test times, as it is nearly impossible to determine your IQ accurately with less than 60 minutes allotted, or longer than 90 minutes allowed.

These two main factors of an IQ test help determine just how accurate any IQ online test really is. For instance, if you are only asked 50 questions, how can your intelligence be accurately measured? If you score well on these 50 questions (but wouldn't score well on other questions), it will naturally skew your test results. In addition, if the test is too long (for instance, 200 questions), you're going to become easily tired and fatigued. Also, the same is true with the test time. If you aren't allowed as much time to complete the test (for instance, 50 questions in 10 minutes), how can you honestly be expected to complete those questions accurately in that time frame? Likewise, if you are allowed too much time (for instance, those same 50 questions, but now with 90 minutes), you will have too much time to review your answers, and pick better answers. This could result in your IQ score being higher than normal on this type of a test failure. Test question format, and time play the key role in determining your IQ accurately.

An Important Advice

Once you have taken your IQ test, you can easily interpret the results yourself. There is no need to compare your IQ to others’ but instead you should keep in mind the average IQ scores. The average IQ score is 100 points. If you score less than 80 points, this means that you have an IQ that is way below the average. If you score more than 120 points, this means just the opposite.

Now you know how to tell whether an IQ test is accurate, and how to determine the results. Armed with this information, you can now easily take any reliable IQ online test, to determine your IQ. But all such tests are not reliable. Furthermore, they differ in quality, standardization and measurement. You must not take these results seriously to make important decisions of your life.
