Understanding the Employer’s point of view

If you are looking for a job, you must understand that there are jobs that are fit for you and post that you do not qualify. Employers in a job interview are looking for specific applicants that are fit to do the job that they require.  For instance, it will be hard for you to get a managerial job if you have a low score on “thinking”. A person with high logical or thinking skills is likely to qualify. On the other hand, if you are applying for a counseling job, people with high scores on “feeling” would likely pass. The most dominant personality trait on your Jung personality test is likely to be the basis of the work that you will be good at or comfortable with. It will make you more productive since you are happy doing your job. Now we will talk about the four mental functions as mentioned above.

Sensation and Intuition

These functions are the information gathering functions. They interpret and understand new information gathered by our senses.

People who are comfortable with sensation functions are will trust data that is presently tangible and concrete. It means that the information or data perceived is understood by our five senses. They do not believe hunches or luck; they look at concrete data.

Intuition, on the other hand, tends to trust and process information that is abstract or theoretical. They are most likely to focus on future possibilities. These types of people tend to believe ideas and insights that they are plan on doing. They collect and process data mostly from a pattern or theory.

 Thinking and Feeling

These are the functions that focus on the decision making. Both thinking and feeling are used to make decisions based on information that is received from the information gathering functions.

People that are more inclined to the thinking function tend to make decisions from a detached point of view. They measure decisions that are reasonable, logical and casual. They stick to the rules that are set and do their work by the book.

On the other hand, people who are inclined to the feelings function makes decisions by empathizing or associating with the situation. They tend to look on a different perspective and weigh the situation inclined to the emotional side. Their decisions are more likely to be affected by condition that is triggered by emotions.  These types of people are good listeners, and they very well understand the feelings of others.

These are the basic information you can find on the Jung personality test. It is best if you take the test first before applying for any job so that you can save time. It is best to apply and work on a job that is fit for you. A job fit for you is not a job at all if you are happy doing it.

Archetypes

The archetype is a fundamental Jungian concept. Its importance to analytical psychology has been compared to that of Newton concept of gravity. The genesis of the archetypal theory dates back to the Platonic ideas.

Archetypes are innate universal psychic temperaments that form the substrate from which the basic ideas of human life materialize. Being common and innate, their effect can be discovered in the form of myths, symbols, rituals, and instincts of human beings. Archetypes are components of the collective unconscious and serve to arrange, show the way and inform human thinking and behaviors. Archetypes profoundly affect the human life cycle. Each stage is interceding through a new set of archetypal necessity, which seek fulfillment in action. These include being parented, commencement, courtship, marriage, and preparation for death.

Double Nature of Archetypes

Jung projected that the archetypes had a double nature: they live in the psyche and the world at large. He called this non-psychic aspect of the pattern the 'psychotic' archetype. He demonstrated this by the analogy of the electromagnetic spectrum. The part of the range, which is visible to us, matches to the conscious aspects of the archetype. The invisible infrared end of the spectrum corresponds to the unconscious biological elements of the archetype. He said that the archetypal structures govern the behavior of all living organisms.
