Your personality type determines how you act or behave under a given condition. It tells your behavioral patterns and the way you will respond given a set of conditions. Psychology personality types are of different kinds and they use different variables and parameters in measuring a person’s behavioral, feelings and emotional patterns. It is important to know your behavioral and emotional pattern or personality trait as it will help you to ascertain things you can do with ease and things you will not easily do.

Psychologists and even physicians use personality types and traits in determining things like responsiveness in stress. People with certain personality types show certain responsiveness to stress. Some personalities are over-responsive to stress while others are not; those who are over responsive to stress are prone to health diseases.

Type “A” personality is a good example of the aforementioned kind of personality above. This personality is marked by impatience, competitiveness, hostility and so forth. If your personality is Type A, you will be prone to high blood pressure; this is simply because when a person with Type A personality experiences stress, his blood pressure increases and it takes longer time to recover. Such personality type is also characterized by anger and such folks are often prone to heart diseases.

Introverts and Extroverts

Jung in his theory described some personality types and points out different kinds of individuals. The different types of personality reflect the ability of the individuals to process information. Personality types can be classified basically into two which include extroverts and introverts; these classifications simply depend on the direction of the activity of the individuals. Such activities include thinking, feeling, sensing, intuition and so forth; it could also include judging and perceiving.

Introverts as differs from extroverts are characterized by subjective view of the world. Introverts are simply interested in their own thoughts and feelings and they need to have their own territory. Such individuals are self reserved, quiet and thoughtful; they also do not usually have many friends and find it difficult to make contacts. Introverts like concentration and do not like unexpected visits.

An extrovert is also one of the psychology personality types. You are interested in things happening around you rather than your own thought and feelings when you are an extrovert. As a matter of fact, extroverts are often talkative and open; as an extrovert, you compare your own opinions with the opinions of others. Extroverts like taking actions and making initiatives, the individuals easily make new friends and can also easily adapt to new group, they also say what they think and are also interested in new people.

Other Classifications of Psychology personality Types

Your personality types can also be classified based on some other parameters or standards which might include sensing versus intuition type individuals, thinking versus feeling individuals and perceiving versus judging individuals. Each of these personality types has their respective peculiarities as well as uniqueness. When you are a sensing type individual, you tend to judge things based on what you see and also you can quickly adapt to new situations but the reverse is the case with intuition type individuals. Intuition type individuals worry about the future and they are attracted more to the theory than the practice.

How Personality Types Relates to Work

Psychology personality types apply to the workplace and can be used in determining the type of work an individual can easily do. This ensures effectiveness in the workplace and therefore leads to increased productivity. As a matter of fact, employees should also know their personality traits and types before applying for jobs in order to ensure that they perform maximally in that job. For instance, extrovert personality is the best kind of personality for marketing and sales because the individuals can easily make friends.

Psychology personality tests are used in ascertaining psychology personality types. Different kinds of personality tests exist and they are used in ascertaining personality based on certain conditions. Personality tests are not completely reliable and have certain limitations and as a matter of fact, they may not accurately predict your personality in consideration. To test your personality, make sure that you go for accurate and effective tests designed to draw your personality to limelight.

In personality testing, you might be given some questions or statements which you can use to evaluate whether they apply to you or not. Your personality has to do with anger, emotions, feelings, judging, perceiving and so forth.
