Relevance Beyond US Cultural Context

by Severus Snape
(Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)

I recently took this test & found a large number of the questions to be so silly that it was very hard to take any of it seriously. In particular, I found that I had no definite response one way or the other to many of the questions, that I could not honestly give a true/false response. In addition, I found this test heavily biased in terms of context and language and would seriously doubt it's relevance and "accuracy" beyond American social/cultural settings.

Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory
by: Severus Snape

Would like to hear what other people think of this test. I am resident in Australia and was required to take this test as part of an evaluatation with a Family consultant as my child's father is seeking access through the Family court. We have come out of a situation of Domestic violence and the legal system in Australia does not protect children and assumes parents should have equal parental responsibility and access. The Minnesota test may be very influential in determing whether my child will have to spend contact time with an abusive father who very clearly has serious mental health problems.
Have other people been in a situation like mine and what do they think of the value of this test?
