Numerical question is incorrect it is 5 not 2.

Editor's Note: Thanks Tracy for your contribution. However, if you may contribute your reasons, it would be more helpful to the visitors.

As far as I understand, there are two simple series of numbers.

Series 1: 16,13,10,7
Series 2: 11,8,5,

What would be the next number in the mixed series:

16 - 11 - 13 - 8 - 10 - 5 - 7 -

Answer is : 2

Series 1: 16,13,10,7
Series 2: 11,8,5,(2)

It is simply abstract thing with numeric values.

Like on the first comment, try to check the initial values as Series 1 and result deducted by 5 is Series 2.

Series 1:16 - 5 = 11 :Series 2
Series 1:13 - 5 = 8 :Series 2
Series 1:10 - 5 = 5 :Series 2
Series 1:7 - 5 = (2) :Series 2

So completing the abstract result for Series 2: You'll have 2 as the answer.

Regards.

I agree, the answer is 2. Just subtract the initial value series by 5 and consecutively subtract it by 5. So the answer is : 2

numerical question
by: rohit awasthi

the answer is 2....just subtract 5 from the no. and add 2.....for eg..
16-5=11
11+2=13
13-5=8
8+2=10
10-5=5
5+2=7
7-5=2
so 2 is the next number
