Normal?

I got a IQ of 150 just after I turned 12. Is this normal? I was put in a placement test in math for another school and I would have started 9th grade if I went over there. Although one of my hobbies is researching I don't think I'm that smart to have a iq like that. Plus I took a adult iq test not a kid one. Normal, Genius or Gifted.

Reason why I'm not bumped up a few grades is that I'm hard of hearing, deaf in 1 ear (I've had this since I was born don't worry). My mom is afraid that if I took a GT test that I will get upset over not qualifying. So should I take the GT test or not?
